Jeffrey Fashion Cares: Fun for a Good Cause

Hello Divas!

I hope you are having an Amazing Week.  I am trusting God and being thankful!

Last night I had the good fortune to attend the Jeffrey Fashion Cares Fashion Show and Charity Event. Caren of Caren West PR was the PR company for Jeffrey Fashion Cares and she invited me to cover the event.  Can I just say FABULOUS! I had the best time ever and the fashions were on point.

The cocktail hour was swanky.  It took place on the 32nd Floor of 12th and Midtown and the view was out of this world.  Champagne was flowing and the hors d'oeuvres were delish.  The Who's Who of Atlanta was in attendance and everyone looked fabulous!

The Fashion Show featured the designs of Proenza Schouler.  I was particularly obsessed with the coats and pants suits.  Check out the designs:

After the Fashion Show, the after party was held at Opera.  The party had a circus theme and there was pretzels, cotton candy, popcorn, and animal crackers.  The cotton candy was made to order and it was sooo good. Boy I love fresh cotton candy.  There were also circus performers and the B-52s were scheduled to perform, but they did not.  Boo!  But the B52s lead singer,  Fred Schneider, was in attendance.  Although the after party was happening, I didn't stay long because I turn into a pumpkin at night.  Hey, I have two kids to look after! LOL!

Jeffrey Kalinsky, owner of Jeffrey's Atlanta and New York and Bob Ellis shoe store, has hosted this show for 18 years! Wow!  In my opinion, the absolute best part of the event is when Jeffrey dedicated this year's Jeffrey Fashion Cares event to his father.  His father passed away on April 18th of this year and Jeffrey stated his father was a "the most brilliant retailer ever and he taught him so much."  Jeffrey's father is the founder of the original Bob Ellis shoe store located in Charleston, S.C.  Jeffrey actually started his career working in his father's store selling designer shoes.  Jeffrey then opened Bob Ellis in Atlanta and Jefferey's later on.  And as they say folks, the rest is history.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Atlanta Aids Fund and the Atlanta chapter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Toodles!

Proenza Schouler: Special Guest at Jeffrey Fashion Cares

Hello Divas!

Remember life is beautiful regardless of what you are going through so be thankful to God and enjoy it!

Well today is Tuesday and I have exactly a few more days until I land in NYC for Blogher 2010.  I am getting a little excited! I will be speaking about "Mastering Intellectual Property Law on the Internet" so be sure to follow @IPLAW101 to get the tweets and updates.  Good info!

But for all of you Fashionistas and Divas, the annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares charity event and fashion show is around the corner.  Yes, this is the fashion event of the year in Atlanta!  Jeffrey Fashion Cares was founded by New York and Atlanta fashion retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky.  Jeffrey owns Jeffrey's Atlanta and New York and the all important high end shoe mecca, Bob Ellis.  If you live in Atlanta, you know about Bob Ellis in Phipps Plaza.  Jeffrey Fashion Cares benefits the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Atlanta Affiliate and the Atlanta AIDS Partnership Fund.  Jeffrey Fashion Cares has been around for 18 years and has raised approximately $9 million dollars. Fashion for a cause?  An event after my own heart!

This year's special guest designers are the masterminds behind Proenza Schouler, Jack McCoullough and Lazaro Hernandez.  If you have never heard of the line, you should.  At last year's New York Fashion Week, this show was the hottest ticket in town! Certifiable.  The clothes feature their signature "tailored coats in lush menswear patterns, sleek pencil skirts, and color-blocked chiffon evening gowns with satin belts.  Check it out!

In addition, this year's Honorary Chair is Sara Blakely, the creator and owner of Spanx.  Wow!  The event has changed locations this year and will be held at the prestigious 12th & Midtown complex on the 33rd floor.  This new development features the Loews Hotel and other fine retail shops and restaurants.  This year's event promises to be phenomenal!  The event takes place August 30, 2010 at 7pm.  For ticket information, please visit here.

Toodles!
