Hello Divas!
I hope life is treating you good. Always take time to pamper yourself no matter what!
I have a huge love affair with dresses. I love wearing dresses. They make me feel pretty and feminine. I am always shopping for dresses at Department and discount stores. Furthermore, if you buy a dress, it is one outfit and you don't have to worry about finding a shirt to match a skirt or trousers. Dresses are just simple like that.
Before my Blogher trip, I went to Nordstroms to find a cute dress on sale. I needed a professional but cute dress for my speech. Essentially I needed a day dress that could also work as an evening cocktail dress. Well I found the perfect dress by Donna Rico. I love this dress so much, I have since given two more speeches/presentations and I have worn this dress to both. I think of it as my lucky presentation dress. LOL!
Here is a pic of me in the dress.
This dress is made of stretch sateen cotton. It has tight cap sleeves and the bodice fits snug but not overly tight. It is heavily lined and I love that. I always feel like I am getting more quality if the dress is lined properly. The dress is sturdy and can be worn to work with classic black pumps or for dinner and cocktails with high-heeled sandals. Plus I love the floral print. There is nothing like a well tailored floral print dress. This dress reminds me of the classic dresses women wore in the 50s and 60s when wearing dresses, pumps, and pearls was an everyday occurrence. Classic.
This is my new favorite dress and I can't wait to purchase my next Donna Rico creation. As a matter of fact, I have to have this classic floral print one pocket day dress. The boat neck and fitted bodice is insane! So me!
Donna Rico prides herself in being a classic dress maker and designs dresses she feels will make women look good and feel good about themselves. You can find Donna Rico dresses here or at any Nordstroms. Also I did find my dress on sale at Nordstroms. Donna Rico dresses retail for around $108, and I purchased mine for $68. She is also having a sale online here.

Grass Collection Belted Shorts Romper! HAUTE!
Hello Divas!
I hope your weekend was relaxing and blessed. Considering how far I have come, I have SO MUCH to be thankful for? What are you thankful for?
Today I am going to talk about my HAUTE Grass collection black romper I purchased from Macy's. I wore it to the Blogalicous Party at Blogher 2010 and I received so many compliments. As a matter of fact, Style Mom, a mama diva who's opinion I highly trust, even told me it was HAUTE! If Style Mom put her stamp of approval on it, I knew it was smoking!
I purchased this romper from Macy's in the Junior's department. Yes I still shop in the Junior's department when I am looking for something stylish. I was a size 4 but inching back up to a 6, so I need to get myself back in the gym. LOL! I have always been a fan of Macy's because they frequently have sales and deeply discounted clearance items in every department. I was specifically looking for a fly romper for summer and found this one!
It was originally $49.50, but of course, I purchased it for only $29.99. Not a bad deal! As you can see it has the cutest wide belt. It perfectly cinches my waist. Also, the front drapes in the front, so there is some skin showing but not too much. But more importantly, it shows off my pretty track star legs. LOL! I can wear it with flats or with my platforms. I can dress it up with the platforms for a lounge or night out on the town or down with flats hanging out at the park or going to a museum. Plus it is so comfy. I love it!
Here is a picture of it on me. What do you think?

LORAC: 3-D Lip Gloss in Brilliant A Levres
Hello Divas!
I hope you are having a fab week! I am enjoying being home and relaxed!
While at Blogher, I ran into the fab people at Hautelook. Hautelook sponsored a lounge for beauty and fashion bloggers during last year's fashion week and it was a great place to learn about new products, blog between shows and relax. And if you don't know Hautelook is a sample sale shopping site that offers between 50%-75% off designer brands.
Hautelook was featuring their site and also giving full size samples of LORAC's Multiplex 3-D lip gloss. See I have been eyeing this lip gloss since DE of Beautylogicblog featured it on her site. I had actually went into Sephora trying to find the perfect shade and none of them looked good on my skin tone. Well the Hautelook representative gave me the Brilliant A Levres color. She stated she thought it would look good on me and boy was she right! It is a sparkly bronze and just like that.... Bingo! I found my perfect match. Apparently LORAC just launched this shade and I am so glad they did. The colors stays all day and it glides on very smooth. It is medium sticky, but the shine is insane! Plus the 3-D effect is pretty awesome. It ranges from bronze to peach!
This color looks gorgeous on my skintone! Check it out!
Me, Funkidivagirl, and Angela of Hanging with Mrs. Cooper
The only complaint I have about have about the gloss is that it smells like Amoxicillin, the antibiotic. Not cool. I know the smell because I have two small kids and the doctor always prescribes it to clear infections. LOL!
LORAC 3-D gloss comes in a range of colors to basically compliment any skin tone and it retails for $22. You can find it at Sephora.
Toodles!
Disclaimer: Product was complimentary via Hautelook. However my opinion is my own.

GAP 1969 Jeans and Perfect Trousers: Comfort and Style
Hello Divas!
I hope life has been wonderful for you fab people! I discovered several things this past week. God still performs miracles everyday and choosing to be happy or miserable is a choice!
Well I have returned from Blogher 2010. It was fabulous and exhausting! The sessions were awesome. My session, Mastering Intellectual Property Law on the Internet went very well and we answered so many questions we went over time. I am glad we could give some Bloggers some insight on this very important topic. Also there were amazing keynotes, hundreds of Bloggers to meet, and plenty of parties! Whew! What a conference!
Before heading to NYC, GAP graciously offered to style me and provide a mini-wardrobe for my Blogher trip. To say I was floored is an understatement. See I heavily shopped at GAP in college and law school and always loved the clothes. They are affordable and of good quality. As a matter of fact, I still have a pair of GAP flat front stretch Khakis and a GAP polka dot blouse from mid 90s. Plus I ALWAYS shop at GAP for luxe son's clothes. The are sturdy for an active elementary aged boy and stylish. I had just purchased him several pairs of GAP cargo pants and shorts for school.
So of course, I said yes! Who wouldn't want a complimentary mini-wardrobe with free styling from GAP.
GAP gave me one denim look and one Perfect Trousers look. GAP is currently promoting their 1969 Jeans and Perfect Trousers pants. The 1969 Jeans are made with heavy denim with plenty of stretch and they are comfy. I chose a skinny jeans pair because I love skinny jeans! My stylist Chad also chose a buttery soft but stylish tee and fitted black blazer to complete the look. Here is my outfit.
Chad
Next Chad found me a pair of City Flats and a City Tote to compliment the outfit. These sparkly flats had just came in that day and I jumped on them! Love them! I wore them almost everyday in NYC and they were so comfy. I highly recommend them. Plus he found me a cute but functional tote to complete the look. I actually carried my laptop and all of my essential belongings in this bag from Thursday until Monday and still had plenty of room! I love this bag!
GAP Perfect Trousers are just that Perfect. They are soft, the fit is right and Chad chose me a blue pinstripe pair. I guess he figured she is a lawyer and what lawyer does not love a pair of perfect pinstripe slacks. He paired the trousers with a nice white high neck blouse and I was officially done. He suggested red platform pumps to complete the look and I thought "that is why he is a stylist." He just knew what items go together to create a perfect look.
Of course I rocked the City Flats, City Tote and denim outfit at Blogher. What do you think?

Big News! Blogher 2010!
Hello Divas!
I hope your life is absolutely wonderful!
I have some AMAZING news to share! I was invited to speak at the 2010 Blogher Conference in New York, August 6-7. Yeah!
I will speak on a panel entitled "Mastering Intellectual Property Law." Specifically, I will discuss intellectual property law, registering and protecting a trademark, copyright infringement, defamation, libel and slander. For those of you who don't know, I am a practicing intellectual property attorney and I specialize in trademark, copyright, and legal issues in new or social media. Yep! That is my profession. But of course, beauty is my obsession! LOL!
I have another blog entitled www.iplaw101.com and over there I discuss and explore legal issues in social media. This blog has afforded me amazing speaking and writing opportunities. It has been very good to me.
So if you have any legal questions or concerns regarding your blog, check me out at www.iplaw101.com. But this blog is for beauty and check in tomorrow for Fun Fridays! It will feature my fave luxe beauty brand. Do you know the brand I am referring to?
