Yagolicious Beauty Affair in NYC December 2010

In December, I attended a few holiday girls night out events, including the Yagolicious Beauty Affair. (I attended my first Yagolicious beauty affair in October.) Here are some pictures I took of the event, including makeover, massages and yummy sweet treats! As always, this intimate event is great if you're looking to destress, have a drink and meet your girlfriends for an evening. With lots of sweet treats and beauty makeovers, what better way to spend your time?

PrettyCity's Beauty Sample Sale 2010

NYC PrettyCity's annual Beauty Sample Sale with SHAPE Magazine took place on November 17 at NYC's Greenhouse. I wait all year to attend the beauty sample sales and this is my third one! Overall, I had a lovely time (again!) meeting lots of new vendors, snacking on cupcakes, and spinning the famous SHAPE wheel for prizes! As usual, there were tons of people so it was rather crowded. However, crowds I can deal with- it is NYC afterall, but the required coatcheck got people a bit riled up. Other guests wished they had known about this beforehand incase they didn't have any cash on them.

As always, PrettyCity.com never lets you leave empty-handed so they had a nice goody bag filled with treats. Inside the bag included samples of a VitalFusion adult gummy vitamins, lip balm, KISS nails and more!

(Shape Magazine's Prize Wheel) I got SPANX and an athletic tee in size XL! I won't be wearing that but the SPANX sounds cool!

Introducing you to Beauty & All That's Bridal Series #1 !

Beauty and All That's Bridal Series has officially begun! I'll preface this with saying that I'm not a bride but I have been to many weddings this year and previous years so although I'm not an expert, anything glamorous, romantic and white - I like! To start off and dip into bridal industry, I attended The Wedding Salon - one of the bridal tradeshows that all brides must attend! Thank you so much to WeddingSalon.com for letting me attend! There were tons of exhibitors for photography, bridal destinations, florists, services, catering, and so much more to help the bridal plan their big day.

There were tons of NYC brides in attendance and they were eager to soak in as much information as possible. Although it was very crowded, it wasn't so bad. Once we were done, we were ushered to exit and for those who held a goody bag ticket, to pick up their famous goody bag. (Stay tuned for the inside dish of what the goody bag contains!)

Everything was extravagant and incredible gorgeous.. just take a look at these sample dinner tables and CAKES!!! Exquisite, huh? :)

NYC Shecky's Holiday Night Out - Winter 2010

Shecky's NYC Holiday Night Out is happening again this December 15 - 17 at the Altman Building. Tickets range from $25 - $50, with all ticket admission giving you a goodie bag. The $50 liimted ticket will give you a Nest tote bag. Nest is a nonprofit organization that empowers female artists and artisans around the world and it's pretty neat that Shecky's is working with them.

NYC Pretty City TriBeCa MedSpa event November 10, 2010

As a Beauty Ambassador of PrettyCity.com, I was invited to attend the TriBeCa MedSpa event last night in New York City. Ladies of New York City lined up to get makeovers, complimentary waxing, sip on IZZE drinks, and get consultations on their skin, BOTOX and so much more! We were able to meet with the staff of TriBeCa MedSpa and learn about the different services they offered. The venue was very spa-like, serene, and chic. As always, we were gifted a goody bag with beauty product samples!

	Outside TriBeCa MedSpa :) The neighborhood is so cute- lots of great restaurants and shops nearby! Absolutely love the brick walls and shelves in here.. can my apartment look like this please?
	Cupcakes and sweet treats for us to nibble on! nom nom.. the cupcakes were soo good and they had little baggies for us to take the rock candy and gummies in ! Sweeet idea!

MyNines.com Shopping & Cocktail event in NYC - October 2010

MyNines.com and Fashism hosted an intimate beauty & fashion gathering at the penthouse suite in the Buckingham Hotel near Central Park last week. It was a fabulous view and I learned about some great brands! First, if you haven't heard of MyNines.com, check them out! It's a sample sale site that aggregates all the sample sale sites together all in one hotspot so it does all the work for you! Shop on! :)

At the event, one of my fave beauty sites were there- BeautyTicket.com- known for selling premium cosmetics at discounted prices. They always have new inventory coming and great sales! They carry Stila, Too Faced, Pixi and many more!

At the event, they gave attendees a Paula Dorf lipstick and a chance to purchase a few Paula Dorf cosmetics at discounted prices- $5 each. Since the lipstick was SPF15, I was able to get this amazing cheek blush instead. :)

	Also, at the event was Exclusively.in, which sells fantastic clothing and jewelry pieces inspired by Indian fashion. Look how pretty these are!
	Birchbox.com was also there. For only $10/month, you will get 4-5 deluxe beauty samples mailed to your home at the beginning of each month. You get to try samples of your favorite brands and if you like them, you can shop via their site to earn points! Points will give you discounts on future product purchases, so it's a never ending sampling/buying cycle of your favorite cosmetics. Two samples in their recent box was the Nars Makeup Primer and the Tatcha Japanese Beauty paper (blotting papers).

NYC Shecky's Girls Night Out - Fall 2010 Event Recap

Shecky's Fall Girls Night Out is in full force again. Earlier this month they were at NYC for a few days and I was excited to attend again! The venue was new and was a bit different. They had the usual jewelry vendors, foodies and as always the Beer Tasting! I was good and didn't spend a single dime! Instead, I enjoyed the atmosphere, company and food samples!

Yagolicious NYC Beauty Affair Recap

The evening of Sept. 16 was quite memorable- not only did a storm/tornado hit and left NYC, I attended my first Yagolicious Beauty Affair! (sponsored by Yagolicious Cosmetics - gotta love women entrepreneurs!) The event was held in the private room at the Beauty Bar, which is a venue with drinks, snacks and you can get your nails done at the same time. How fab is that?! Special Thanks to YAGO for the VIP invite! :)

Check out more pictures below of the diva-licious event! Though it was a small venue, everyone who attended with friends had a great time sipping on le Vive drinks, mini cupcakes and learning more about Yagolicious Cosmetics.

They didn't showcase the Yagolicious cosmetics for makeovers until halfway through the event. I was waiting to check these out!! Gorgeous colors!!

Unfortunately, I was not able to stay long enough to pick up the giftbags that evening. With the rain/storm chaos that night, traffic caused the bags to not make it in time. However, Yagolicious Cosmetics were generous enough to mail the VIP attendees the bags.

	Yes, this is the same palette that makeup artists used the same night as the Yagolicious Beauty Affair! I was drooling over this at the party! :)

SHAPE Magazine's Pilates in the Park - October 2010

This past Sunday was the annual Pilates in the Park sponsored by SHAPE magazine. It was one of the first magazine workout events I attended in NYC back in 2007 when I knew this as Pilates for Pink. For $25 you get to participate in a 40 minute Pilates class taught by certified instructors with various backgrounds and a free workout mat + goody bag. The best thing about this is knowing that all proceeds are donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I went last year to check out the vendors and they had my favorite- Spin & Win! By donating a certain amount to spin a wheel, you get a small prize. There were other vendors there, including Tribe Organics with delicious hummus, Truvia were giving out smoothies and I also got a massage at the Asics booth.

Check out the pictures and make sure to join in the fun next year! Note- I was surprised this year’s goodie bag didn’t have as many beauty sponsors as last year’s! The Pilates Mat was pretty nice though.
