Having personally gone to many NYC PrettyCity events in the past two years, I can assure you they are a fun way to learn about a new spa and hang out with your friends at the same time. As always, they have mini beauty sessions, such as makeovers, mini-treatments and delicious snacks and drinks! PrettyCity's Beauty Sample Sale 2010

NYC PrettyCity's annual Beauty Sample Sale with SHAPE Magazine took place on November 17 at NYC's Greenhouse. I wait all year to attend the beauty sample sales and this is my third one! Overall, I had a lovely time (again!) meeting lots of new vendors, snacking on cupcakes, and spinning the famous SHAPE wheel for prizes! As usual, there were tons of people so it was rather crowded. However, crowds I can deal with- it is NYC afterall, but the required coatcheck got people a bit riled up. Other guests wished they had known about this beforehand incase they didn't have any cash on them.

As always, PrettyCity.com never lets you leave empty-handed so they had a nice goody bag filled with treats. Inside the bag included samples of a VitalFusion adult gummy vitamins, lip balm, KISS nails and more!

NYC Pretty City TriBeCa MedSpa event November 10, 2010

As a Beauty Ambassador of PrettyCity.com, I was invited to attend the TriBeCa MedSpa event last night in New York City. Ladies of New York City lined up to get makeovers, complimentary waxing, sip on IZZE drinks, and get consultations on their skin, BOTOX and so much more! We were able to meet with the staff of TriBeCa MedSpa and learn about the different services they offered. The venue was very spa-like, serene, and chic. As always, we were gifted a goody bag with beauty product samples!

	Outside TriBeCa MedSpa :) The neighborhood is so cute- lots of great restaurants and shops nearby! Absolutely love the brick walls and shelves in here.. can my apartment look like this please?
	Cupcakes and sweet treats for us to nibble on! nom nom.. the cupcakes were soo good and they had little baggies for us to take the rock candy and gummies in ! Sweeet idea!

NYC Pretty City invites you to the TriBeCa MedSpa event

NYC Pretty City's Chris Chase Salon event 8/23

As a VIPretty, I was invited to attend the NYC Pretty City event this past Monday at the Chris Chase salon in the Chelsea area. (I received a VIPretty invite, but no actual confirmation I was VIPretty yet...) Anyway, it was A LOT of fun! It was a rather short event, which was good since I wasn't able to stay long but in half hour, I got my hair curled, tousled and waved out by my stylist. Gals, if you ever go there, request for Brian! He did a FABULOUS job and gave me tips on how I should have my hair cut, styled (free advice never hurts!)

Overall, I really like these events b/c you get to check out a neighborhood salon, see how well the stylists are and you basically get a great dry style without spending a lot. Tickets for the event cost $25 and you get a goodie bag too! I got a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE to go back to Chris Chase services or get their products, OPI nail polish, a Softlips gloss (whee! another one!), and more!

Sittng next to the snacks, this see-through glass wall (the decor in here is amaazing) lets you get a sneak peek into the salon.

Tom's of Maine Toothpaste and Beauty Bar

Tom's of Maine was one of the product sponsors for the goodie bag I got at the Green and Gorgeous beauty event sponsored by Pretty City and SHAPE Magazine. I got the Daily Moisture natural beauty bar and the Long-lasting Wicked Fresh! toothpaste. I can't stop raving about the goodies that I got there because literally every single thing that got, I am excited to try- because it's all natural and eco-friendly.

I haven't tried Tom's of Maine products before but I have seen them at drugstore and Whole Foods. I was currently using the Colgate toothpaste that I got at the last Shecky's event but I decided to try this one to see how a natural toothpaste worked. The Tom's of Maine Wicked Fresh! formula contains minimal products and natural flavor oils to combat bad breath. It also has an active ingredient to fight cavities. Although one of the ingredients says "natural flavors," I can't help but to think what that exactly means.. but at least it's not artificial!

The Daily Moisture beauty bar is also something that I am really liking. I've used similar bars before that contain olive oil, but this one is very moisturizing. My skin feels smooth after using since this contains moisturizing ingredients such as olive oil and natural vitamin E. Even though the weather is currently very humid and gross, I know that my skin still needs moisture. This soap is great to use for the face or body.

Pretty City's Green and Gorgeous Eco-beauty Event in June 2010

At the end of June, Pretty City had another fantastic event in NYC called Green and Gorgeous, featuring eco-chic beauty products, services and a giant goodie bag. :) Located in Environment Furniture, attendees shopped, learned about new and favorite beauty products, sipped on Izze drinks and gushed over their goodie bag.

My favorite part of the event was definitely learning about new beauty brands while getting to check out the decor of the store. The ambiance of Green and Gorgeous was very relaxing- kudos to them for selecting such a great venue this time!

There were three floors of vendors, with plenty of seating on each to lounge around and sip on Izze drinks. Yum!! They're available at select grocery stores and retail restaurants.

The Body Shop was there to display and sell some of their top products- body butters, their new deodorants, and Love Etc. scents.

One of the vendors that I really enjoyed learning about was Wembé Amazonian Soul's eco-friendly luxurious all-natural handmade soaps. Over a dozen soaps were displayed and each one smelled so fresh and natural. They had samples of the Mango and Yerba Mate in its old formula. It was recommended to me to get the Yerba Mate exfoliating blend soap and I'm so glad I did! This soap contains antioxidants, essential oils which feels rich and luxurious. Makes each experience feel so spa-like, it's amazing!

Lavera was also another vendor that provided samples of their sunscreen and lipglosses. This company is also eco-friendly and uses natural ingredients for their products, which is perfect since I am allergic to chemicals in sunscreens. These are available for purchase at Target.

Although the brands did not have tables at this event, I have to say that I am loving every single one of these products. All of these full-size products in the goodie bag came in a reusable bag from brands such as SHAPE magazine, Tom's of Maine, Bodycology, EcoTools, and so much more! Hope to do more in-depth reviews coming soon!

Pretty City celebrates Salon Ziba's 20th Anniversary

Happy Birthday Salon Ziba!

Pretty City helped celebrate Salon Ziba's 20th Anniversary with a Girls Night Out event. They previously hosted the Beauty Sample Sale with SHAPE magazine in the fall, so I know their events are a can't miss! I had so much fun sipping drinks and eating sweet cupcakes/cookies (don't they look delish?) with friends.

In case you don't know, Pretty City provides reviews on salons and spas in major cities across the United States (ie: NYC, Chicago, Miami) and hosts beauty events as well. Be sure to check out their site before you go to any spa or salon!

Over 200 people were invited to get makeovers, hair blow-outs and manicures at Salon Ziba in New York City. There were about 10-15 stylists working hard to get everyone's hair gorgeous that night. Thanks to the Salon Ziba staff that night!

I received a personalized consultation and my hair stylist, Eiko, gave me two choices- a natural look or something more unique. I decided for the latter and got my hair curled into a sophisticated style. I was the only one with an up-do and received many compliments! This took a long time and I appreciate her detailed work and focus! She even offered me a drink because I looked thirsty! :) What a sweetheart! Everyone, request for Eiko- she is lovely and a professional with 10 years of experience! Styles ranged from simple, natural blow-outs, trimmed bangs, and curly-dos!
