New Year's- New Routines

It's a week into the new year (2011) and I sometimes catch myself using 2010 when I write the dates. Anyone else have that same problem? It usually doesn't go away until .. sometime in February. I have a few new year's resolution including updating my routines to spend my time wisely.

So far, I have been good with keeping track of how I use my time- by keeping a mental schedule and a to-do list. A few new routines I am liking are:

1) Reading more- I have recently been reading Harry Potter (yes- I know a decade late) but I'm loving it so far. I'm on book #4 now so I'll be reading the rest of the series this month and then I can catch up on watching the movies! Can you say, HP Marathon? Anyone read any other good books lately?

2) Updating my bodywash routine- While cleaning my room, I found a sample pack of the Lisa Hoffman Spa Shower Daily Shower Care products. It included 5 samples of a 5-step routine, including 1) Cleansing Gel 2) Exfoliator 3) Body Oil 4) Body Cream 5) Hand & Elbow cream. The scent was soo lovely (rainforest), but using all of these layered on the scents and definitely made it stronger. I have to admit that sometimes I don't always use lotions and oils afterwards but this year I will make a conscientious effort to do so. :)

3) Stay Crafty- I recently learned this new craft, needle felting and it is so addictive. Basically with a special needle, a block of foam and wool roving, you can create cute little objects of your choice. More to be explained on my crafty blog- Crafty & All That. soon! Also want to keep up with learning crochet skills..I've been obsessed with Amigurumi so much lately that I want to learn more crochet stitches.. This year I am definitely interested in taking a new crafts class too.

4) Try New Makeup Looks- Instead of using my neutrals all the time, I am determined to try new fun makeup looks this year. Got tons of colors I want to try and a stash of makeup to do so. :) Even if I don't want to wear makeup on a particular day, the least I will wear is eyeliner/mascara.

What are some of your new routines?

xoxo, Beauty & All That

4 Perfect-for-New-Year's-Eve Glittery Nail Polishes

This is a TotalBeauty.com nails article

I recently waxed poetic about the possibility of wearing glittery eyeliner or eyeshadow for the holidays, which I totally did, BTW. And, I'll admit, it looked quite smashing and not nearly as tween-y as expected. But now it's time for glittery nails, here's how I'm getting them …

Winner of the New Year New Beginnings Giveaway

Hello Divas!

Did you survive the extreme cold temps this weekend? I barely made it! Mucho Frio!

The Winner of the New Year New Beginnings Giveaway is: nicmac

I just loved her comment.  She did something she normally does not for the holidays.  She glammed up and received tons of compliments! Nice!  Remember Divas, we have to take care of ourselves and feel good. It just boosts our self-esteem.

Here is nicmac's comment:

"During the holidays I wanted to look like a diva. I put in a phoney pony, a sweater dress with leggings. Full make up. This is a change for me because I am a plain jane and my family was so surprised. I think I might glam up more often."

Nicmac you have 24 hours to contact me to claim your prize.  If not, I will have to give the goodies to the next runner-up.

Toodles!

Happy New Year!

2010 is here!
My beauty-related resolutions are:

1) Use everything that I have before purchasing new things! Sort of like a Project 10 Pan- a term popular in the blogosphere/YouTube, coined by Lollipop26, where you have to use 10 products before buying something new. I wonder if throwing out old things count as part of the 10. :) Of course, this can be modified to your own terms. I am

2) Use products more often! This coincides with the first one since I need to use things before buying. However, I need to remind myself to use things, otherwise I just won't and they will collect dust.

3) Continue to use natural (or as natural as possible) products! It's important to take care of your skin and body and to limit the amount of chemicals you use in your makeup and skincare products.

4) Exercise more often! Ideally I would like to exercise 3-5 times a week, but I will be happy if I can do so at least twice a week. A few months ago, I actually had a routine after work, but then it got COLD and the winter blues makes me do other things. :)

5) Moisturize! Realized it is important to moisturize my face, so I will continue to do so more frequently.

6) Experiment with my makeup. I have so many colors (eye makeup-wise) to play with, that I want to experiment and have new & different looks! Definitely will be using more of my eye shadows from Everyday Minerals, Tarte, LORAC, etc. I also have collected a few nail polishes this year and I will continue to wear them. I have been on a makeup hiatus this month and a half, I believe, due to cold weather and a never-ending cough.

7) Look more glam :) (See 1-6 above)

8) BE HAPPY & HEALTHY! Yes, This is beauty-related because you need to have inner glow to be beautiful on the outside.

New Year New Look!

Hello Divas!

How was your Christmas? Mine was great! The best part about this Christmas was watching the luxe kids open all of their gifts and getting everything they wanted. Plus luxe baby screamed WOOOOOW!!! with each gift she opened! Priceless!

As you can see Luxetips has a new look! Yes I finally decided to go with a more luxe and pretty design that is truly a reflection of me. However, I can't take all of the credit. Franki D of Life In A Venti Cup, actually found the image. She is a super FABULOUS designer and apparently knows me well. When she sent me the image, I was like...yep that is me! Love her! I then took the image to Zoe of Chic and Sassy Designs and she added custom features to go with the image. Her addition included luxe baby playing in my purse and trying to put on my makeup, which is so very on point. So cute! She also added little touches such as the shoes, handbag, phone, keys, etc.

Divas if you are looking for a new look, be sure to check out Chic and Sassy Designs. Plus visit Franki's blog! It is simply Gorgeous!
