Revlon ColorStay Sophisticated Grays Eye Collection

happy monday, beauties! hope you enjoyed a fabulous holiday weekend. did you get any yummy makeup and beauty goodies?

i received a few gems, but the one shadow palette i have been using a lot these days comes by way of a trip to Target i took a few weeks ago.

this Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow Quad in Sterling Rose came with a ColorStay Eyeliner and was packaged as the Sophisticated Grays Collection. i was drawn to the classic shades because they're perfect for this season and beyond. three of the shades are pretty light, and all of the shades have a sheen to them, but i love mixing and matching the colors-- day to night looks are effortless!

i'm a huge fan of Revlon ColorStay eyeshadows and these didn't disappoint. the pigments of each shadow are good with fab blendability and wear. each color is classic and will easily transition into spring. the liner is mechanical (perfect for waterline application), and stays put all day!

Revlon is available at your favorite drug and mass retailers. be sure to visit revlon.com for more info.

Revlon's Beauty Look at Rag & Bone Spring 2011

for Rag & Bone's spring/summer 2011 runway show, Revlon's global artistic director, Gucci Westman, created a showstopping look to compliment collection.

using some of her favorite products from Revlon, Westman made up the models in a look she called "real beauty". the Rag & Bone collection itself is full of textured and natural clothing, taking inspiration from Laurence of Arabia, so the makeup look was "meant to capture a journey."

"the girls look slightly windswept, a little raw, and disheveled with dewy skin. this translates to a healthy, subtle color in cheeks and a grayish, slightly brown sheen eye, " says Westman.

Revlon products used to get the look:

on the eyes:

Multi Use Palette in Suede Rhapsody (available early october)
Luxurious Color Matte Kohl Eyeliner in Black Truffle
ColorStay Liquid Liner in Blackest Black

on the face:

Cream Blush in Berry Flirtatious

on the lips:

ColorBurst Lipstick in Fashion's Night Pout (unfortunately, not for sale at retail locations, but be sure to look for exclusive giveaways on Revlon's Facebook and Twitter pages during the month of september!)

Redbook Beauty Bash 2010

This past Saturday, I went to the Redbook Beauty Bash event at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
I had such a wonderful time this year!! And why wouldn't I? Manicures, massages, and a great goodie bag to take home! I appreciated that this year's event took place at larger venue because even though the lines were just as long, we were able to sip Solerno Blood Orange Bellinis while waiting. Plus, I was a VIP guest. :)

The entire floor was divided up into many spa treatment sections- from manicures to makeovers to eyebrow shaping. I waited for at least 40 minutes but I got the best manicure ever! Thanks to Spa Chicks on the Go who did all the spa services that day! My nails were beautiful painted in Essie's Mink Muffs- gorgeous taupe colour- and had all the extras- base & top coat and even the EZ dry treatment!

I also got a very relaxing shoulder massage. The masseuse definitely worked on my knots on my right shoulder. Blame it on my bag + lunch tote! It was about 4-5 minutes long and I wish it was longer!

Interesting to see that these ladies are looking at everywhere but the person's shoulders!

The special guest of honor was Daisy Fuentes! She is coming out with a book in May called, Unforgettable You, filled with tips and tricks to make yourself Unforgettable. I was standing in line for the manicure when I took this picture of her. I was debating whether I should get off the line to get her autograph, but I didn't want to lose my spot either! It turns out she didn't stay very long, but at least I got to see her in person. She is gorgeous!!

To see more pictures of the event...

Stay tuned for upcoming post on my goodie bag! Subscribe to get the latest news!

The Fragrance Bar- where you can smell Calvin Klein's Eternity fragrances. Also got one in our goodie bags to use!

In between the Fragrance Bar and the Massage Bar

One of the give-aways during the event- a huge basket full of REVLON goodies! We also got a Revlon lipstick in our goodie bag! :)

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation

Hello Divas!

I hope your Wednesday is fantabulous!

As you recall, I purchased Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation a couple of weeks ago because I heard it gives you a flawless finish.  I have been using it since then and it has its pros and cons.

First the pros:  This foundation is so lightweight, it does not feel like I am wearing anything.  It does have a "photo ready" finish.  If blended well, your skin will achieve that airbrushed look.  More importantly, this foundation does not break me out!  A plus here! I am extremely careful about what I put on my face and this foundation does keep me blemish free.

Cons:  I find that I have to use a lot of the product to cover deep blemishes.  When comparing this foundation to my Black Opal Stick Foundation that covers every blemish, Revlon Photo Ready does not provide deep coverage.  So if you have skin with minimal blemishes, Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation is perfect!

You can purchase Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation at CVS or online here.

Have you tried Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation?

My Wal-Mart Haul: Revlon and Maybelline!

Hello Divas!

I hope all is well!  I hope life is treating you fabulously!

This weekend I had to venture out to Wal-Mart to get some items that I could only find at Wal-Mart.  Now if you know me, I can not stand Wal-Mart. Really I can't, but the one thing I love about Wal-Mart is the beauty aisle.  They have all of my favorite drugstore beauty brands at Amazing Prices!  For instance, I saw a Maybelline ad of Jessica White and she was wearing this fabulous pinkish nude lipstick called Nearly There from Maybelline's ColorSensational line. It is so gorgeous!  So while in Wal-Mart I found the lipstick and do you know it was only $5! Yep $5! In CVS and Walgreens they are selling the same lipstick for $6.99.  That is a $2 savings!  So I also picked up a ColorSensational lipgloss in Born With It.  Love it!

Maybelline Nearly There Lipstick.
Maybelline's Born With It Lipgloss.

I ventured to the Revlon section to check out the cost of Revlon's PhotoReady Foundation.  It was only $11.49.  CVS was selling it on sale with a CVS card for $12.  More savings.  I purchased the Cappucino color and it is a perfect match.  This foundation is all the rage and I just had to try it!  I will let you guys know how it turns out!

Do you shop at Wal-Mart for beauty products?  Let me know!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Revlon Tweezers!

Hello Divas!

I hope life is superb! Remember to love and respect yourself. If you don't no one else will.

Divas I lost my favorite La Vaque Tweezers.  I so need to contact them so they can send me a replacement pair.  So I have had to find a suitable replacement in the meantime.  I purchased a pair of Revlon Point Tip Tweezers from CVS and I am extremely pleased with their performance.

I like that the Tweezers allow a firm grip.  They don't slide out of my hands.  They are just the right size.  They are not too big and not too small.  But, what I love most about the Tweezers is how well they remove unwanted hairs.  The point firmly grips hairs and pull them out firmly but gently.  You don't have to worry about grabbing a piece of hair and it breaks mid-shaft and not from the root. I love that!  I have used so many Tweezers in the past that simply break off hairs without removing them completely. Ugh!

Revlon Tweezers retail for $2.99 and you purchase them at CVS or online here.

12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas! Day 11: Glowing Holiday Make-Up

Hello Divas!

How was your day? If you are like me, you are still trying to get those last minute gifts before Christmas! Last minute shopping always gets me in the Christmas spirit.

We are almost done with 12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas! Of course in order to complete our luxe look, we must wear gorgeous holiday make-up! Yep, I saved the best for last! LOL! During the holidays I want to glow. So I am going to use shimmery blushes, bronzers, and shimmmery eyeshadow for that sun-kissed look. As for lip color, I may go with a bronzy nude for Christmas Eve and for Christmas Day, a dark wine or gorgeous red! Here are some products I am contemplating for Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Bobbi Brown Nude Eye Palette. Every Diva knows Bobbi Brown makes the best palettes! They are limited edition and always sell out. I love this Nude Eye Palette. It contains mattes, pearlized, and metallic shimmer colors. I would use the shimmers to create a festive holiday eye and the pinkish white to highlight the inner corner my eye. Gorgeous!

Lancome Hypnose Mascara. I love my Defencils, but this mascara creates separation, definition, and volume!

To achieve the ultimate glow, you must have a very good bronzer or blush. You guys know how much I love NARS blushes. However, their Irrestiblement Bronzer is fab! Apply it to your brown bones, cheek bones, and anywhere else you want a nice glow.

Revlon Foiled lip gloss is a fantastic bronzy pink lip gloss for a great price! It has insane shine and is super moisturizing.

Also Revlon's Black Cherry lipstick is a gorgeous dark wine that I will wear on Christmas Day! It is simply gorgeous!

What make-up will you wear on Christmas Day?

12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas! Day Three: Holiday Mani/Pedi

Hello Divas!

How was your day? I hope it was simply wonderful!

Day Three in our 12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas Series focuses on beautiful holiday mani/pedis. Although it may be too cold to show your toes, pampering yourself with a mani/pedi is a must during the holidays!

I recommend short but well manicured nails during the holiday season. All of the cool dark and sparkly holiday nail polishes look fantastic on short nails. Here are some of my favorite holiday colors:

Essie's Wicked. A rich dark deep wine. I simply love it! A cult classic.

OPI's Sapphire in the Snow. A rich purple. OPI has the best colors.

Revlon's Vixen. The less expensive version of Chanel's Vamp. Love!

Chanel's Trapeze. A taupish silver metallic that is all the rage for the holidays. Chanel polishes are a bit expensive, but they do set the trends. HOT!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Revlon's Brow Fantasy Pencil & Gel

Hello Divas!

I am still recovering but getting back into the swing of things. The conference re-cap post is coming...still organizing and gathering pics! You guys are going to love it!

I just want to hip you guys to a great drugstore eye brow grooming pencil. Revlon's Brow Fantasy is functional and great quality. I first used this eye brow grooming pencil on my friend Deslyn at her wedding. It was exactly what we needed to define and tame her eyebrows. Revlon's Brow Fantasy is a pencil and eye brow gel in one. You simply use the pencil to fill in brows for a defined and/or full look. I love that the pencil portion is wide and very creamy. It fills in eye brows with ease. Next you use the gel to tame any fly away hairs and set the look in place. The gel is tinted with the color of the pencil and will last all day long. I know because I never had to re-touch Deslyn's eye brows on her wedding day! Using this pencil literally takes 2 minutes! It is so quick and easy and certainly does the job! The pencil comes in four shades ranging from dark blond to black. If you are on a budget, this is the perfect eye brow grooming kit! This pencil retails for $6.99 and you can purchase it at CVS.

My Favorite Drugstore Beauty Products!

Hello Divas!

I hope your day is truly Fantabulous! It is gorgeous in Atlanta. The luxe kids and I were out all day yesterday. So today is another day on the scene! Woot!

Last week I was asked by Concierge PR to recommend beauty products for the Dress To Remember Event. This event was sponsored by Dress for Success and Concierge PR. The purpose of this event was to provide gently used prom dresses, mini-makeovers, and goody bags for Atlanta Public School teenagers in need. The products I recommended were included in the goody bag. Of course, I only recommended the best drugstore brand products..that I use. Here they are:

1. Covergirl Lashblast Mascara. I know I have blogged about this mascara before but it is my current go to mascara. Love!

2. Black Opal Foundation sticks and concealers. Black Opal is a GREAT bargain foundation. It goes only smoothly and completely covers blemishes. Plus the range of colors compliment women of color beautifully.

3. Loreal Hip Color Presso Duo lip shades and eye shadows! I love Loreal's Hip line. I compare it to MAC but on a budget. The colors are intense and very rich. I love the duo lip gloss. You get two shades for one price. You can layer the shades or use one at a time. The eye shadows are pretty fab too. They have purples, golds, greens, etc.

4. Revlon A Floral Affair Blush. These blushes contain 3 colors that you can blend together or use separately. I use one color as a blush and another color as a highlighter. In addition, the color ranges are great for all skin tones. Great product!

5. Wet n Wild's cream and powder bronzers. Awesome products. The Megaglow Illumnizing bronzer is my all time fav drugstore bronzer! Wet n' Wild bronzers come in several shades for different skin tones and they are only $2.99! Can't beat it.

6. Milani lip liners. These lip liners are creamy and retractable! I love that! Plus they come in a wide range of shades and they are only $3.50!

I hope the young ladies enjoy these products. I use all of these products several times a week. Beauty does not have to break the bank!

What are your favorite drugstore brands?

Fun Fridays! Revlon Fantasy Lengths False Eyelashes

Hello Divas!

I hope life has been wonderful! It is back to freezing weather here in Atlanta. Well tonight I hope to attend a hot event...if I get a sitter. lol! If I do attend this event, I am going to wear my Revlon Fantasy Lengths "falsies" or false eyelashes. I am currently obsessed with these eyelashes. Why? Because I can go from drab to glam in about 15 minutes! False eyelashes are great for a formal event or paired with lip gloss and jeans while shopping. In my opinion, false eyelashes are the ultimate accessory! Revlon's Fantasy Lengths eyelashes come in multiple styles, self-adhesive or with glue, and they are affordable! They are only $6 at CVS or your local drugstore.

Revlon's self-adhesive falsies are my favorite. I personally do not like dealing with glue. I leave the glue to the pros! lol! Here is my technique to applying them perfectly:

I simply remove the lashes from their container,
I then hold the lashes up to my eye and make sure they fit (if not, I can trim them),
Next, I carefully and with a lot of patience place the lashes on top of my lashes and close to the base of my eyelashes as possible,
Lastly, using patience, I take my fingertips and carefully press the eyelashes cm by cm securely to the base of my eyelashes. Remember patience is the key!

Once the lashes are secure, ooh la la! I add a touch of lip gloss and go! In addition, they are so easy to remove. With patience, carefully remove the lashes from your eye. Simple. Also Revlon Fantasy Lengths Eyelashes are reusable! Simply place them back in their container that is shaped like perfectly curved eyelashes. This container helps the lashes retain their shape.

You can also purchase them online here.

Valentine's Day Must Haves!

Hello Divas!

Happy Pre-Valentine's Day! Ladies I know most of you are getting ready for the big day! Today I am going to the hair and nail salon! Whoohoo! In celebration of this all important holiday, here a few must haves every Diva should have on Valentine's Day! Enjoy!

1. A sexy seductive hot scent. Personally I love Tom Ford's Black Orchid or Lancome's Magnifique. Wear either scent and I promise he will give you kisses all night!

2. False Eyelashes. Valentine's Day is a special night so go for the dramatic. False eyelashes will give you a sexy look and you can continually bat those babies over a candlelit dinner. My personal favorites are Revlon's Fantasy Lengths Eyelashes. The flirty lashes in this product line are outstanding! They are so easy to apply and a breeze to remove.

3. Luminous skin. To achieve a beautiful natural glow use Benefit Cosmetics Lust Duster Shimmer Powder in Nugget. You can mix this powder with your facial moisturizer for an all over glow. Also you can mix it with your body moisturizer and apply it to your collar bone and decolletege. In addition, use coconut oil for a full body sheen.

4. Chocolates. Whether you are a Godiva or Hersey's fan, chocolates are a must! For the past 3 years, I have had chocolate-covered fortune cookies. I purchase Emily's Chocolate Covered Fortune Cookies from.....CVS! The chocolate is so rich and creamy and they come in the cutest Valentine's Day box. They retail for $5! A MUST MUST HAVE. They are so yummy!

5. Champagne. This is not the day to go for the cheap stuff. My Valentine's Day tradition includes a bottle of Moet's Nectar Imperial. It is a better quality than their White Star version and it is so delish! The hints of peach are very strong. Mmmmmm!

Hot Drugstore Find of The Week: Revlon Mix & Mingle Lip Palette

Hello Divas!

How is your hump day going? I hope fantastic! My hot drugstore find of the week is Revlon's Mix & Mingle Lip Palette. This lip palette is the bomb! It contains 3 lip gloss shades. You can apply one of the shades or you can use one shade as a liner and another shade as a filler. You can also layer all three shades for a multi-dimensional look. The gloss is super creamy and it has a nice fragrance. I purchased the Hello Honey lip palette that contains a bronze, peach, and sheer pink color. I love this gloss because the palette is pretty to look at and it looks great on my skintone. Revlon has several other color combinations, so regardless of your skintone you will find a color that looks great on you! The Mix & Mingle lip palettes retail for $8.99 and you can purchase them here or at CVS!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Revlon's A Floral Affair Sheer Powder Blush

Hello Divas!

How is your Wednesday? I am so glad this is a short work week I don't know what to do! My hot drugstore find of the week is Revlon's A Floral Affair Sheer Powder Blush. Now I must admit, I have never used a drugstore brand blush. When I started wearing make up I never used blush, just lipstick, eye pencil, and mascara. When I was introduced to the fabness of blush, of course NARS stole my heart and I have been a NARS junkie ever since. But one of my faithful readers, Rhonda, asked me to recommend a good drugstore blush. So of course I had to deliver. I chose Revlon's A Floral Affair because one, the floral design is just so pretty! Two, the colors in the Honey Bunch palette are peach, orange, and bronze. I knew these colors would look great on me because orange blush rocks on brown skin! The Floral Affair Blush has three colors that you can apply individually or you can swirl all three together and apply to your cheeks. I swirl the colors together and I truly get a nice flushed glow! Also, the blush is very light and smooth. I have been wearing this blush for a week and I really like it. My only complaint is that the color does not last all day long. I definitely have to reapply the blush towards the end of the day. But I am spoiled because I never have to reapply with my beloved NARS. When using Revlon's A Floral Affair, I would definitely recommend wearing primer so that the color will last. But besides that, I would recommend purchasing this blush. It retails for $11.99 and it comes in several color palettes. Regardless of your skin tone, you can definitely find a color to compliment you. Click here to view the blush palettes and for purchase information. You can also find this blush at CVS!

Yum! And of course I plan on doing some beauty and thrift shopping. Yipee! This leads me to inform you wonderful people of a few great sales and events going on this Labor Day weekend. First, my favorite thrift store, The Junior League of Atlanta's Nearly New Shop, is having a 50% off sale on EVERYTHING, Labor Day, Monday, September 1. Check it out here. Have a great Holiday weekend!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

Hello Divas!

I hope your week is just wonderful! My hot drugstore find of the week is Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick. Now I was an avid fan of this lipstick while in college. Back then it was $6 a tube and I thought that was a grip. lol! Now I may spend $20 on a lipstick. Funny how things change. But Revlon always makes great lipsticks. The colors are awesome and their Super Lustrous lipstick is packed with moisturizers and vitamin E to keep your lips silky smooth and moist all day long. It truly feels decadent. While in CVS, I discovered that Revlon is currently having a sale on all of their products, buy one get one free. I usually purchase a nice dark burgandy Revlon lipstick called Black Cherry for fall. So I snapped up the Black Cherry lipstick and discovered Revlon had a selection of nude lipsticks. I had been looking for a nice nude lipstick that will compliment my skintone. Well after studying several shades, I chose a pearl in Caramel Glace. Caramel Glace is a nice nude with a hint of rose. I apply my MAC Chesnut lip liner and the Caramel Glace over it, and I have the perfect nude lip for fall. I love this lipstick! And the best part is I can rock two fab fall trends (nude and dark lips) for the low low price of $7.99. Yes, I got both lipsticks for only $8.00. How many ways can I say I looooove CVS! The sale on all Revlon products is going on now. It is in store only. The sale will end this Saturday, August 30.
