Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser

Hello Divas!

I hope you are having a beautiful day!  Life is a blessing!

The last quarter of the year I begin to experience a lot of acne breakouts on my face.  I knew it was stress, but I was kind of frustrated and at lost on how to get rid of it.  I had not had any acne breakouts in quite some time, so I really did not have anything in my beauty arsenal to combat it.

Well I found Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne cleanser and it has been a life saver.  I have used it for a month.  After about two weeks of use, I stopped having breakouts. Woot!  This cleanser contains 10% benzoyl peroxide.  It has a creamy texture and I use it with my Clarisonic.  But be careful.  If it gets in your eyes or mouth, it burns and irritates like crazy.  I learned the hard way.  However, it does not dry out my skin like other benzoyl peroxide cleansers have the tendency to do.

This cleanser gets rid of pimples in a short period of time, is moisturizing and non irritating to my skin. That is why it is my Hot Drugstore Find of The Week!  Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne cleanser retails for $6.49 and you can purchase it at CVS.

Luxe vs. Less: Is expensive better?

Hello Divas!

I hope your Sunday morning started off nice and calm. When I read this article, I was too excited! The fab people at Total Beauty did a comparison of skincare items in the luxe (more expensive) category and the less (drugstore brand) category. After reading this article, you will know if you really do need to spend your hard earned dollars on that Clarisonic, which they do highly recommend! I am getting mine soon!

You don't have to spend half your paycheck on skincare products to stay wrinkle and pimple-free. Dermatologist Dr. Ava Shamban and P&G scientist Mary Begovic Johnson helped us compare products with similar ingredients that are very different in cost to see which are really worth the price. Here's what we found.

My Favorite Drugstore Beauty Products!

Hello Divas!

I hope your day is truly Fantabulous! It is gorgeous in Atlanta. The luxe kids and I were out all day yesterday. So today is another day on the scene! Woot!

Last week I was asked by Concierge PR to recommend beauty products for the Dress To Remember Event. This event was sponsored by Dress for Success and Concierge PR. The purpose of this event was to provide gently used prom dresses, mini-makeovers, and goody bags for Atlanta Public School teenagers in need. The products I recommended were included in the goody bag. Of course, I only recommended the best drugstore brand products..that I use. Here they are:

1. Covergirl Lashblast Mascara. I know I have blogged about this mascara before but it is my current go to mascara. Love!

2. Black Opal Foundation sticks and concealers. Black Opal is a GREAT bargain foundation. It goes only smoothly and completely covers blemishes. Plus the range of colors compliment women of color beautifully.

3. Loreal Hip Color Presso Duo lip shades and eye shadows! I love Loreal's Hip line. I compare it to MAC but on a budget. The colors are intense and very rich. I love the duo lip gloss. You get two shades for one price. You can layer the shades or use one at a time. The eye shadows are pretty fab too. They have purples, golds, greens, etc.

4. Revlon A Floral Affair Blush. These blushes contain 3 colors that you can blend together or use separately. I use one color as a blush and another color as a highlighter. In addition, the color ranges are great for all skin tones. Great product!

5. Wet n Wild's cream and powder bronzers. Awesome products. The Megaglow Illumnizing bronzer is my all time fav drugstore bronzer! Wet n' Wild bronzers come in several shades for different skin tones and they are only $2.99! Can't beat it.

6. Milani lip liners. These lip liners are creamy and retractable! I love that! Plus they come in a wide range of shades and they are only $3.50!

I hope the young ladies enjoy these products. I use all of these products several times a week. Beauty does not have to break the bank!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week! Maybelline's Full N' Soft

Hello Divas!

I hope this week is a good one! My Hot Drugstore Find of the Week is Maybelline's Full N' Soft Mascara. While visiting several beauty forums, I kept reading rave reviews about Maybelline's Full N' Soft. Fellow beauty junkies claim it is a great thickening Mascara that also lenghtens your lashes and keeps them nice and soft. So, considering my absolute obsession with Mascara, you know I had to try it! Well ladies it definitely lives up to the hype! The brush is medium to big (not big as DiorShow which I will review later), and I love that when you pull the brush out of the tube, any excess Mascara is instantly wiped off the brush. So no clumps! I apply 2 coats and my lashes are thick, full, and long. I really really like this Mascara! And true to its name, your lashes feel soft and feathery, not hard. Plus you can't beat the price. This Mascara retails for $7. You can purchase it online here, or at your fav drugstore.

Okay, Ladies I have an awesome "Hot Drugstore Find" of the week. RoC Daily Microdermabrasion Cleansing Disks. I have been wanting to try these disks for a while, because I have heard rave reviews about them. Plus, I needed to exfoliate desperately. However, I am always cautious when trying exfoliation products because my skin is very sensitive and too much abrasion will cause major breakouts. Divas these disks are a must have! The disks contain gentle microdermabrasion action on one side and conditioning moisturizers on the other side. You simply wet your face. Then you use the microdermabrasion side to exfoliate and remove dead skin. Afterwards, you turn the disk over and wet the moisturizing side and use it to massage your face. Rinse and pat dry and apply your usual moisturizer. Immediately, my skin looked brighter and it was definitely smoother. I have been using these disks for 1 week now and my skin feels absolutely awesome. They do not irritate my skin or leave it dry. I'm loving it! RoC claims that these Disks will visibly reduce fine lines and improve the texture of your skin after 1 week of use. Well ladies after 1 week of use, I absolutely stand behind RoC's claims! These disks definitely live up to the hype! And of course you can purchase these disk at your favorite drugstore for only $9.99 for a pack of 24. CVS had a sale on all RoC skincare products and I purchased mine for $7.99. Gotta love CVS! You can also purchase them online here at Drugstore.com. Drugstore.com has a promotion for all RoC products: buy one get the second 50% off!
