African-American Baby Products: Shea Body Butter

As you know I love body butters.  Especially, the body butters that contain shea butter.  Shea butter is an all natural ingredient from the Shea tree and it contains Vitamins A, D, E, F.  Wow!  It is so moisturizing and heals dry cracked skin.

Last summer, I went to the Mocha Moms National Convention and there was a vendor at the Expo selling African-American Baby Body Butter.  The body butter contains Shea Butter and I knew it would be great for luxe baby's skin.  But I loved the product so much, I have been using it on my skin and it is simply Fabulous.  Why is it so fabulous?  This body butter contains a blend of shea butter and sweet almond oil.  It is super hydrating and really does heal cracked skin.  I particularly use it on my heels and elbows.  I have been using it so much, luxe baby and I are running out and I need to purchase several more jars of this wonderful body butter. 

The wonderful thing about this product is that it does not contain any parabens & phthalates.  So it is also good for you and your babies too!

A 4 oz jar of Baby Body Butter retails for $10 and you can purchase it here.  Unfortunately, it is not available in many places and that is a shame because it is a superb product.  But hopefully the company will get more distribution and the products will be easy to find.

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: PROFECTIV Root Health Anti-Dryness Strengthener

I have been testing out a new product on Luxe Baby's hair.  Now you know I LOVE Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercream for her hair.  It defines her pretty curls and slicks her hair into a style unlike any other hair product.  Plus I really do believe it is making her hair grow like wild fire...or it could be because she has hair like her grandmother...but I digress.  I love it. 

But recently I ran out of Baby Buttercream and I have not had the time to go to Curltopia to get a couple more jars.  So until I do, I found Strength of Nature, Profective Root Health Anti-Dryness Strengthener in my beauty arsenal.  I received the product to test about 6 months ago, but never had a need to use it.  Well desperate times call for desperate measures and I had to find something to tame her hair into ponytails and twists.

This hair cream is light weight and instantly moisturizes her hair.  This product is designed for persons who have natural hair styles and are suffering from dryness, itching and flaking.   So it is extremely moisturizing.  It does define her natural curls and does not make her hair feel sticky.  The baby buttercream does make her hair sticky, but it keeps her styles in place.  The Profective Root Health does not necessarily keep her hair style in place.  It is a bit too light weight for luxe baby's hair.  But overall it has been a good substitute for the past two weeks.  I think the Profective is perfect as a natural styling product for natural divas with light to medium hair textures.

Jurlique Love Balm: Moisturizer and Fragrance on the go!

I am a sucker for lotions, body butters, and oils. I love it when my skin is silky smooth! Currently, I am obsessed with Jurlique's Love Balm. This balm is not only for lips, but you can use it on your hands, elbows, feet, neck....anywhere where you need a little moisture. This balm is made with Vitamin E, Olive, Soybean and Safflower Oil. Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Dove Sensitive Skin Nourishing Body Wash

Dove has just released a new sensitive skin moisturizing body wash that is simply the bomb! Why? For the past 15 years, I have only used Dove soap for sensitive skin. It is the only bar soap that will not break me out or dry out my skin. See I have super hyper sensitive skin. If I wash my body with the wrong product, I break out in the worse way. Ugh! Although I absolutely love body washes, I have to be very careful using them. If I notice one bump, blemish, or dryness within a few days of use, I have to stop using it! So when I discovered Dove was releasing a body wash specially formulated for sensitive skin, just like their awesome soap, I was elated!

This body wash, like the soap, is hypo-allergenic, soap free, and unscented. However, I found that there is a scent but it is very mild and pleasant. Curel Natural Healing Soothing Moisture Lotion

I hope your Monday has started well! Last week I ran out of my absolute fav hand cream, L'Occitane, and was frantically looking for something to moisturize my hands. I found a sample of Curel's Natural Healing Soothing Moisture Lotion in my make-up drawer. I must say I am pretty impressed. The lotion instantly moisturized my hands and got rid of the scaly ashy look. In addition, I only had to apply the lotion one time and my hands stayed soft and moisturized all day! Lisa Hoffman: Day Cream with SPF 15

Brrrrrr! It is so cold in Atlanta! We totally skipped fall. But I am wearing my Uggs so I guess it is okay. lol! About two months ago, my dear blogging friend, Bionic Beauty, promoted an opportunity to receive a free full size sample of Lisa Hoffman's Day Cream with SPF 15. I submitted my information for the free sample, and they contacted me and asked if I wanted to offer the same free full size sample to other friends. Good Ole Olive Oil

I hope your weekend was fabulous! Mine was hectic, but good. Well last week, I was visiting one of my absolute fav beauty blogs, Shake Your Beauty, and Ms. Tia announced that she was preggers with.....a little girl. Yeeeaaah! She asked her readers for recommendations of products she can use during her pregnancy. Well ladies, I recommended Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I tell you E.V. Olive Oil is a must have, all natural, beautifying moisturizer that rocks! When I became pregnant, my Aunt recommend that I use Olive Oil to prevent stretch marks. She said it would loosen my skin so that it could stretch freely and it would keep my skin moisturized. When you have a baby growing inside your belly, your skin becomes very itchy and dry. Well I massaged my belly, legs, arms, breast, and rear with E.V. Olive Oil every morning and night and two pregnancies later, I do not have one stretch mark! Now you see why I am absolutely in love with E.V. Olive Oil. I also discovered that I could use it on my hair for moisture and sheen. But if you do use it on your hair, only use a teeny bit. I also used it on my face when my skin was extra dry. For some reason, while pregnant, the skin on my face was super dry when normally I have oily skin. Well the E.V. Olive Oil moisturized my face and did not leave it oily. My skin just glowed! And after doing some research, I discovered that Extra Virgin Olive Oil has antioxidants and is a great anti-aging moisturizer for the face! What more can you ask for?? Again, my skin glowed everywhere I used the E.V. Olive Oil! I can't rave about E.V. Olive Oil enough! I still use E.V. Olive Oil when my skin or hair is dry or I just need that glow factor.
