I am a NARS blush fanatic!  Although I think their eyeshadows are fabulous,  I have yet to purchase any of their them.  I love my Lancome shadows! LOL!  But after looking at this Collection, I have to have the deep violet and gold eyeshadow! Insane!

As Francois Nars describes himself, this Collection is "old-Hollywood meets Futuristic"  "It is sexy, sultry, sexy, daring, and decadent."  And indeed it is.  The Collection features vibrant intense colors for the eyes; subtle glow for the cheeks and a soft or strong lip.  Clearly the eyes will be the main feature in this Collection, so soft cheeks and lips is a nice compliment.

How was your Memorial Day weekend?  Mine was fabulous! I spent time with my family and friends and it was just lovely!

As a matter of fact, a good friend of mine, Jackie, was the keynote speaker for the 31st Annual Christian Women's Retreat and she asked me to do her make-up.  Of course I said yes because in my mind I am a celebrity make-up artist! LOL!  Jackie also has a fabulous blog entitled, after the alter call, that discusse the issues Christians face "after the alter call."  It is a great read!

Well here are the results!

She was very pleased with the results!  I went for a professional crisp look but with a little pizazz.  I really love her eyes!  I think they are the best I have ever done.

Of course I used mostly Lancome products. Why? Because they are just darn good! Specifically, I used:

Lancome Tropiques Mineral Bamboo Bronzer on top of Nars Blush and all over face.
Benefit Cosmetics Lust Duster in Nugget as a highlighter.

Eyes

Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Smooth Hold Eyeshadow: the color "Makeover," (a intense metallic pink) all over lid, "Drape" on the brow bone.  I used Lancome Tropiques Mineral Bamboo Bronzer in the crease of her lid. I also lined her bottom lashes with Lancome "Makeover" eyeshadow and used Lancome Kajal eye pencil in Gold Blaze in the inner corner of her eyes.  Of course I finished her eyes with Lancome Defencils Mascara. Classic.

Sephora Beauty Event Recap! LORAC, NARS, and More

How is life? I hope wonderful! It is so beautiful in Atlanta! I am so thankful for great weather!

This past Saturday I ventured to Sephora for their Beauty Pampering Event.  It was so much fun.  There was a live DJ and major beauty brands were set up to showcase their latest and greatest!  Fab MUAs were giving complimentary makeovers and there was also skin consultations.

I must admit I have never used any LORAC products but after Saturday, I am converted! Fabulous.  This skin illuminizer is INSANE on brown girls. Trust me on this one.  It is a sheer peach bronze liquid with beautiful shimmer.  The MUA applied it underneath the eye and on the tops of cheeks and the brown girls were looking like beach bronze queens. Loved it! This product is perfect for Summer.

I was also impressed with NARS Taos blush.  Now I have tons of NARS blush, but I have never tried Taos. Gorgeous on brown skin!

I also won a prize! Whoohoo!  I won a LORAC Co-stars lip color with high shine gloss in French Kiss, Make Up Forever Aqua Smoky Lash Mascara, and a  Temptu ReTouch Powder.  This  powder comes with an all in one brush and you simply press a button and the powder is majically dispensed through the brush onto your face.  I love all in ones!

It was a fab event and I can't wait to share my reviews of the products!

NARS Purple Rain Nail Polish! Purple Rain...Purple Rain

I heard a powerful message last week that I want to share.  If you focus on being thankful for all of your blessings, you will not have time to be envious of others. Wow! So be thankful!

I opened my email the other day and received my weekly email from one of my favorite brands, NARS.  And look what popped up:

 

Love love love it! NARS describes this color as an "intensely gothic purple."  I love the color.  Plus it has tiny sparkles.  This is a beautiful shade for Spring and Summer. I can't wait to get my hands on this color.  If I did not have to go into the office everyday, I would so rock this color on my nails around the clock.  But for now, I will just settle for my toes and on a much needed vacay!

I hope your life is beautiful! It is freezing in Atlanta. This weekend it was a nice and sunny 78 degrees. Go figure! Well NARS recently launched their Summer 2009 collection and boy did it lift my spirits! This collection has me dreaming of bikinis, white sand beaches, big fabulous shades, and gorgeous sandals. Yes Divas, I am in love! Check out some of my absolute favs from the collection.

NARS Blush: Lovejoy

I hope you all are having a beautiful day! Two more days until Valentine's Day! I am so excited. Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays! Well I have discovered a new NARS Blush that I LOVE and I will wear it on Valentine's Day. NARS Blush in Lovejoy. It is a deep bronzy color with a hint of rose. It looks great on my skin. Seriously, it looks better on my skin than the NARS Luster blush, which I also love! As you can see, I am collecting NARS blushes. LOL! I am always amazed that I can find a NARS product that I have not tried or overlooked and it is equally as awesome as every other NARS product I own. I so heart NARS! This blush gives me such a sexy glow and I know my hubby will love it on our Valentine's Day Date. NARS blushes retail for $25 and you can purchase them here or at any Sephora.

Nars Cosmetics: My Illicit Love Affair

I hope your Monday is filled with happiness and purpose! It is cold, cold, cold. Lots of Starbucks Refresh Tea for me! Today I am going to discuss my love affair with Nars Cosmetics. I say it is a love affair because the cosmetics are gorgeous but expensive. It is especially expensive when you buy 2 Nars blushes and an eyeshadow duo once a month! Ouch! But what can I say, I absolutely adore Nars. The colors are so highly pigmented, you don't have to use a lot of the product to achieve the color. So the product lasts longer. And unlike other cosmetics brands, you don't need a primer to make the color last all day. Nars blushes, eyeshadows, and bronzers just last! Lastly, the colors ROCK on any skin tone. So your skin tone can be ivory or dark mocha and the colors just work. Um did I say how much I love Nars? LOL! Now I have previously blogged about my fascination with Nars' blushes here and the Multiple here. But Nars has other fabulous products that I must share with you Divas. Today, I want to feature Nars lip glosses. Fantastic! The lip glosses are nourishing, highly pigmented, and the colors are gorgeous. I am absolutely loving Turkish Delight. Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Revlon's A Floral Affair Sheer Powder Blush

How is your Wednesday? I am so glad this is a short work week I don't know what to do! My hot drugstore find of the week is Revlon's A Floral Affair Sheer Powder Blush. Now I must admit, I have never used a drugstore brand blush. When I started wearing make up I never used blush, just lipstick, eye pencil, and mascara. When I was introduced to the fabness of blush, of course NARS stole my heart and I have been a NARS junkie ever since. But one of my faithful readers, Rhonda, asked me to recommend a good drugstore blush. So of course I had to deliver. I chose Revlon's A Floral Affair because one, the floral design is just so pretty! Two, the colors in the Honey Bunch palette are peach, orange, and bronze. I knew these colors would look great on me because orange blush rocks on brown skin! The Floral Affair Blush has three colors that you can apply individually or you can swirl all three together and apply to your cheeks. I swirl the colors together and I truly get a nice flushed glow! Also, the blush is very light and smooth. I have been wearing this blush for a week and I really like it. My only complaint is that the color does not last all day long. I definitely have to reapply the blush towards the end of the day. But I am spoiled because I never have to reapply with my beloved NARS. When using Revlon's A Floral Affair, I would definitely recommend wearing primer so that the color will last. But besides that, I would recommend purchasing this blush. Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Affordable Make-Up Brushes, Essence of Beauty

I hope your hump day is rocking and rolling. My hot drugstore find of the week is Essence of Beauty Make-Up Brushes. I have been using these make-up brushes for the past...um..lets see..8 years. Yes 8 years! They are fantastic! Why am I just writing about these fabulous brushes? Well I was perusing the MAC counter and inquired about the price of the 217 blending eyeshadow brush and the 252 large shader brush. I figured if all my favorite beauty bloggers and my own MAC make-up artist use these brushes, so should I. Well the 217 brush is $22.50 and the 252 brush is a whopping $29.00. Now MAC does make the bomb diggity brushes but that is a lot of money to spend on a brush. I know some of my readers simply can not afford it or just don't want to spend that much on an eyeshadow brush. So I thought why not hip you guys to my all time favorite inexpensive but high quality make-up brushes. Essence of Beauty Make-Up Brushes are made of high quality authentic hairs and fibers and work beautifully. I have the eye shadow blending brush, dome eyeshadow brush, lip brush, and stand-up face powder brush. My favorite is the stand-up face powder brush. It is a big fluffy brush and I use it to apply blush to the apples of my cheek and bronzer. It applies make-up perfectly. In addition, the eyeshadow blending brush blends great and the dome eyeshadow brush allows you to really pack eyeshadow on your lids. The lip brush is retractable which is always a plus. And of course you can purchase these brushes at your local CVS or here online. They retail for.....$4.99 a piece! Can you believe it??!! Quality and affordable, Fantastic!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets

I hope your week is fab! My week is going great, but I need a vacay! My hot drugstore find of the week is Clean and Clear's Oil Absorbing Sheets. Love these! These sheets absorb excess oil from your face without disturbing your make-up! I have been using them for a month now and they are a life saver. I have very oily skin and in the summer my skin is super oily. These sheets effectively get rid of the shine and my Nars Blush stays put! And of course they retail for only $5.29.
