Get Her Look: Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens attended the beach-side kick-off for Neutrogena's Wave for Change campaign recently in malibu. her look was polished and fresh thanks to makeup artist Karan Mitchell.

Vanessa wanted her makeup to be "golden and whimsical", perfect for the sunny california day, so Karan made sure to "use products that were not only beautiful but were packed with SPF protection."

Karan shares how she created Vanessa's look:

on her face:

"even bare, Vanessa's skin looked soft and bright. she's been using the new Neutrogena Wave Sonic Power Cleanser and her skin felt incredibly smooth as i applied her makeup."

"i prepped her skin first with Healthy Defense Liquid Moisturizer SPF 50. this liquid moisturizer "sinks right into the skin so it wears beautifully under makeup." the foundation Karan chose to use was Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20 in Tan. for her eyes, Karan perked up Vanessa's eyes with the Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector in Medium.

"on her cheeks i used the bronze shade of the Healthy Skin Custom Glow Blush & Bronzer in Natural Glow which i also used under the cheekbones for contour."

on her eyes:

"i started with the peach base color from the Nourishing Eye Quad in Butter Creme and applied it all over her eyelid, up to the brow. it has an spf of 15, so it protects delicate eyelids from the damaging effects of the sun."

"next, i used the copper shade on her lids from the Nourishing Eye Quad in Copper Glow. i also applied the golden shade to the middle and the inside corners of her lids with a dampened brush."

following the shadows, Karan applied liner only to the top of her eyelids using Nourishing Eyeliner in Cosmic Black . some individual lashes were added for intensity, followed by two coats of Healthy Lengths Mascara in Carbon Black.

on her lips:

"for a peachy pout i used MoistureShine Lipstick, with spf 20, in Peach a Boo, and layered the MoistureShine Gloss in Healthy Peach over top of it for a glassy finish."

Vanessa looks fab, don't you think? very beach-chic! btw, you can learn all about the Neutrogena Wave for Change campaign by visiting facebook.com/neutrogena

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub

Hello Divas!

I hope your day is filled with happiness and peace!

Divas I have sad news.  The absolute best drugstore face exfoliating wash is no longer being sold in the U.S. Yes it is true.  Lumene's Artic Touch Clarifying Mineral Scrub is no longer offered in the U.S.  It has been my go to product when I need to get rid of guck and reveal clean and healthy beautiful skin.  So I have been desperately searching for an alternative and picked up Neutrogena's Deep Clean Gentle Scrub.  This scrub contains microbeads that gently exfoliate and Beta Hydroxy to deep clean pores.

The cleanser is definitely not Lumene, but it does a pretty decent job.  The microbeads are small enough to not cause skin irritation and large enough to exfoliate pretty nicely.  It does not give a deep cleaning exfoliation, but it is enough to remove some dead skin.  The cleanser also cleans pretty well and my skin feels very clean but not dry.  It actually feels pretty smooth and soft.  What I really love about this cleanser is that it does not cause my skin to break out.  I have to be so careful when using products on my face.  One wrong move and my face will break out something fierce.

Neutrogena's Deep Clean Gentle Scrub retails for $6.49 and you can purchase it online here or at any CVS.

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Neutrogena® Oil-Free Acne Wash

Hello Divas!

I tell you! My life has been one big roller coaster ride for the past month. My plate is full and I need a mental break from everything! LOL! I hope your life is more peaceful and calm!

Divas, my skin is going through an ugly phase. I have been having the WORST ever breakouts for the past 2 months. I have been trying to alleviate the problem on my own, but I think I have to call in the professionals...a Dermatologist. I have an excellent one in Boca Raton, FL but a trip to Florida is not a possibility in the near future. In the interim, I have discovered Neutrogena® Oil-Free Acne Wash. I usually do not use facial washes with Salicylic Acid because they tend to dry out my skin. But desperate times call for desperate measures and I had to give it a try. What I love about this facial wash is that although it contains Salicylic Acid, it does not dry out or irritate your skin. It also leaves me skin feeling super clean and it controls the oil production. Since I have been using this wash, my acne has calmed down a wee bit, so I am pleased! A six ounce bottle of Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash retails for $6.29 and you can purchase it at CVS.

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser

Hello Divas!

I hope your are having a fabulous hump day!

During my son's school auction, I received a bag of Neutrogena products as part of a ticket raffle. I thought oh goody, more products to try! Well when I recently ran out of my Oil of Olay facial wash, I decided to give Neturogena's Extra Gentle Cleanser a try. At first, I was not impressed. This facial wash does not foam and I love foaming washes. I just feel like my face is really getting clean. However, this cleanser really does clean! How do I know? I always follow up with my toner and each time I use this wash, there is hardly any left over dirt or make-up! In addition, it is moisturizing. So after cleaning your face, it feels clean but not dry. Your face will have a clean but soft feel to it. Of course this cleanser is soap free, non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) and hypo-allergenic. It is specially formulated for those who have extremely sensitive skin. A 6.7 ounce bottle retails for $8 and you can purchase it here or at any CVS.
